Location
Lakewolf Academy is located in Canada, very far north, and far from any Muggles.Lakewolf is located on a fair-sized island in the middle of a lake, and,in turn, the lake is in the middle of one of many Canadian forests.
The Forest
There is only one way to get across the lake, that being the large, old fashioned bridge spanning across the shortest distance between the island and the mainland. The forest is not off limits, though it is after a certain point. The students are not allowed to go too far into the forest, and to prevent them disobeying rules, there is a barrier set up,as well as a wood fence that looks a few centuries old.
The School
The school itself looks like a cross between an old-fashioned muggle school and a castle. It has only one tower, for such classes as Astronomy and Divination. The school is four stories high, and has a two-floor dungeon below.
The Island
The island is fair in size, about twice the size of the school. If you haven't already guessed, the school takes up about half the island. The other half is beautiful with lush evergreen trees,as well as bushes, some of the bushes holding fruit such as raspberries, cranberries, blackberries, and blueberries.
The Bridge
The start of the bridge to the mainland is directly across the island from the school. After dark,a barrier appears around the island, not allowing the students to leave the island, for the forest can be dangerous during the night,no matter how safe it is during daylight.
The Dormitories
The top two floors of the school are reserved for dormitories. The top floor is reserved for girl's dormitories, and the the third floor, directly beneath the girl's dorms, are the boy's dorms.Boys aren't allowed past the third floor;a barrier allowing only girls and animals to pass is placed at the bottom of the staircase, and another is placed infront of the door next to the top of the staircase that leads into the girls' dorms. The same goes for the girls, though instead of a barrier being on the staircase, there is only one infront of the door into the main dormitory area.
Classrooms
The second floor, the dungeons, and the tower are mostly classrooms. On the first floor of the dungeon, directly under the Dining Hall on the main floor, are the Kitchens, managed by house elves.Potions classes are always either on the second floor of the dungeons or in a classroom on the second floor, depending on if the recipe for the potion being made demands warmth and sunlight or dank darkness when being made.As for the other classes, the professor teaching the class usually gets to pick where their class is held.Divination is normally held at the top of the tower,a door or two leading out to the giant balcony on which Astronomy is normally held.
The Common Room
The first floor holds the Dining Hall,as you may already know, where the students eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner.Across the main hallway from the Dining Hall is a giant room larger than the Dining Hall itself. This room is simply a giant Common Room for students.Inside there is two large fireplaces, one on either side of the room, seven couches, and two dozen armchairs,as well as desks and simple wooden chairs for those who wish to do their homework here instead of in their dorms. There are also extra staircases leading off from this room, one leading up two stories to the Boys' dorms, and the other going up the three floors to the Girls' dorms.Students frequently use these as shortcuts to get back and forth between their dorms and the first floor quickly.
The Dining Hall
The Dining Hall contains many marble tables, all about big enough for about a dozen students to sit at.There are about fourty of these, with cushioned seats instead of benches at the sides. The professors sit at their own seperate table, this one about three times longer than the students' tables, and with chairs only on one side. The professors' table is set on a large stage, for the Dining Hall doubles as a ballroom at certain times of the year.Lakewolf Academy holds annual balls, mostly for holidays such as Halloween,Christmas, and Valentines Day.
Annual Ballroom Dances
On the 31st of October,a Halloween Ball is held. The ball, though,is more like a dressup party, though.Students are encouraged to wear whatever Halloween costumes they wish to the ball. The food at the ball consists of salads, roasts, desserts, and the classic candy.Afterwards, students are allowed to go trick-or-treating around the school,to other dorms(boys or girls),classrooms, teachers' offices, and even the kitchen. The house elves tend to give out a lot of candy on Halloween if a student trick-or-treats at the kitchens.Halloween, during trick-or-treating,is the only time both dorms are open to anyone in the school.
On Christmas Eve,always a bit early in the evening,a Christmas ball is held.Formal dress is required fot this one.For the Christmas ball, the ceiling is enchanted to snow, and the snow is enchanted,so it won't melt. The food at the Christmas ball is usually heavily decorated, and mostly colored red, green, and snowy white. There is always a large selection of delicious food, especially desserts such as lacey white cakes and all sorts of cookies. The students are sent to bed early on the night of the ball,to give enough time for house elves to put the students' presents in the Common Room around the giant Christmas tree always in the center of the room, where the students open all their presents the next morning.
On February 14th,a formal Valentines Day ball is held.Students are encouraged to bring a date, seeing as it's Valentines Day,after all.Desserts always take up most the food table, mostly chocolate candies among cakes, pies, and puddings. After the ball, students are allowed to go do what they wish—Join their dates on a romantic date,go to bed, stay in the ballroom and help clean up...On Valentines, though, girls are still not allowed to go into the guys dorms, and the guys still not allowed to go into the girls dorms.
The Library
The library is located on the first floor, and is quite large, taking up a fourth of the first floor. The library contains thousands of books, magic and muggle.Students are allowed to check out only seven books at a time, and must return the book before the school year is over.
—Currently, there is no Librarian. If you wish to be the school's librarian,PM me(the admin) with your request.
The Students
The average student comes to Lakewolf for their First year of schooling at the age of 9.When they turn 11,during their Third year at Lakewolf, they become eligible for the Exchange Program, which you will learn about in the next section.Students graduate from Lakewolf at the end of their Ninth year.Sometimes, there are field trips.Students are eligible to go on field trips only if they have permission from their parent or guardian, and are at least in their Fourth year.
The Exchange Program
The Exchange Program is a program Lakewolf does with other Wizarding schools such as Hogwarts and Beauxbatons. If a student wishes to transfer to another school, and trade places with a student from the other school,a student may sign up for this program,if they have permission from their parent or guardian.
